Museum Section

Earlier the museum were considered as the store-houses of curiosities, Of late , the importance of a museum has been realized in the Rampur Raza Library as the repository of nation's valuable treasuries. The Library established a museum on 19.7.97 in the Darbar Hall of Hamid Manzil Palace and has striven hard to develop it as an impressive place of art, education, research and archealogy for the visitors and research scholars. The Library administers its general museum where original and blow ups of historical rare manuscripts , miniatures, specimen of Calligarphy, weapons and art objects have been put for the viewing of the visitors. The majority of the visitors come and inspect these items. It is open for the benefit of connoisseurs of art and culture on all days of the week except the library holidays . At present there are about one thousand objects with captions on them for display in this section covering back the last thousand year olf nations's heritage. The way to the Darbar Hall housing the museum is through a sculpture gallery representing a number of classical feminine Greek icon figures of 17th century which were imported from Italy more tahna century ago. The gigantic lifesize statues have been carved out of white falcon marble. The niches in the gallery, corners and ceiling of the canopy are embellished in pure gold add much to its stately garndeur. The museum has five large size antique chandelliers hung from its ceilings and become lively with their original electric bulbs that are more than hundred years old.
